Choose what you want to make and find a pattern for it

In this example, it's going to be a split-leg palazzo jumpsuit. This one is sleeveless and very light and airy. You can find patterns online or at a store. You could also not use patterns at all.

Did you know? If you're just beginning to make clothes, the best thing to start with would be something simple, like a circle skirt or a sleeveless top.

Step 2

Get the fabrics and all the materials

For the jumpsuit base, the fabric I chose is an off-white cotton fabric.

For the pants part, since I couldn't find the specific flower pattern I was looking for, I got yards of basic white chiffon, some anti-fusant, pink dyes, green dyes, a thickener, some paint brushes of different sizes, and an embroidery hoop.
